Dying out or Continuing to Develop: A Study on the Library under Network Environment

摘要 从网络环境对图书馆的冲击、社会发展对图书馆的需求、各国信息政策仍将图书馆作为信息产业的重要节点以及图书馆的积极应对等角度,抨击“图书馆消亡论”,阐明图书馆在信息时代将继续生存和发展。同时,从9个方面概述图书馆在网络环境下将发挥的独特作用。 The paper acknowledges the impact and challenges of the network on the library. Meanwhile, it attacks the theory of the library's disapprearance from the view points of the requirement of the society for the library, the information policy's attention to the library and the positive attitude of the library to the network. It is concluded that the library will continue to stay as before and make great progress. On one hand, the benefits of the network bringing to the library are described in the article. On the other hand, the special roles the library will play under the networked environment are summarized in nine aspects in it.
