The criteria of defining performance indicator of limiting pollution load red line of water function zone is introduced after the briefing of background and necessity of the system and analysis of its connotation and index system. The contents of evaluation system of pollution load limitation are studied. It is proved that the system is a scientific approach with Chinese characteristics for water resources protection and good for health of river and lake, and is of great importance for sustainable utilization of water resources.
