对比汉语谚语数字与英语数字在喻义方面的差异,探讨如何处理汉英谚语数字翻译相应的文化空缺现象。汉英数字在谚语中的语义文化空缺失去了原文数字的结构和比喻形象。译出喻义,以保证传递原文的基本信息。

Figures in Chinese proverbs are filled with rich cultural features.The real meanings that the Chinese figures contain cannot be fully conveyed by their equivalents in English.In this paper,it compares the semantic differences between figures in Chinese proverbs and those in English in a figurative sense and further explores how to make up such cultural vacancy in our Chinese-English translation.Our Chinese-English translation of figures have to abandon the original graceful structures and vivid metaphor to convey the basic messages of the original figures.
