在《毛泽东的新民主主义论再评价》一文中,胡绳先生着重考证了毛泽东与民粹主义的关系。通过考证他认为,新民主主义革命时期毛泽东不但没有丝毫染上民粹主义思想,而且是坚决反对民粹主义的。胡绳的考证驳斥了那些鼓吹毛泽东具有民粹主义思想的观点,有力地支持了改革开放,为进一步推动改革开放挪开了理论上的一块绊脚石。
