In order to help analysts to choose suitable detection method for ortho - phenylphenol residue, ortho - phenylphenol residue analysis methods such as GC, HPLC, GC - MS, LC - MS and CE were carefully reviewed, the advantages and disadvantages of each methods were compared and the development trends in the detection of ortho -phenylphenol residue were prospected.
