This article briefly introduces the principle of coating protection on metallic piping and equipment,and recommends coating systems suitable for various environments and conditions in combination with the corrosion environment and the coating products commonly used in China Regarding the characteristics of coating products, major factors that impact the determination and selection of coating system are listed.Meanwhile,some key issues pertaining to surface preparation and coating application are proposed to meet quality requirements.The purpose of this article is to provide guidance in the selection of coating system and to obtain a durable and solid layer of coating protection.
