On Constructing a Cultural Continuity System for Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture

任何自成体系的文化,都是在传承和弘扬基础上进行创新,中华传统文化也不例外。我们必须使之于当代社会相适应、与现代文明相协调,保持民族性,体现时代性。这就需要探讨建设优秀传统文化的传承体系问题,包括把握优秀传统文化的传承方式、揭示优秀传统文化的传承内涵、形成有利于优秀传统文化传承体系建设的政策保障等重大问题。

Any independent culture is a creation based on continuity and development. Chinese culture is no exception. We must make it adaptable to the present society and harmonious with the modem civilization so as to preserve our nationality and to reflect the characteristics of times. There is need to discuss how to construct a cultural continuity system, which includes questions like how to grasp the form of cultural continuity, how to reveal the connotation of cultural continuity, how to ensure the beneficial policies to be implemented and so on.
