Reflection on Double Aspect of Social History——Centered on Fragmentation Problem of Social History

社会史在新时期的蓬勃发展得益于其开放性和跨学科的研究特色,而这又在一定程度上加剧了社会史的碎片化现象。社会史的碎片研究并不等于碎片化,二者需要严格区分。碎片化并不总是由微观取向和跨学科研究造成的,在很大程度上与研究者的研究取向和旨趣有关。从某种意义上说,开放性和碎片化可以被看作社会史的双重面向。打破学科界限仍是社会史发展的大势所趋,而社会史的碎片化倾向则要靠研究者的主观努力来克服。

The booming development of social history in the new period benefits from its openness and interdisciplinary research characteristics, however, which in turn intensifies the fragmentation phenomenon of social history to some extent. Fragments re- search of social history is not equal to the fragmentation, so it is very necessary to make a strict distinction between the two. Frag- mentation does not always result from microscopic orientation and interdisciplinary research, but due to the research orientation and purport of the researchers to a great extent. In a sense, openness and fragmentation may be seen as double aspect of Social history. Breaking subject boundaries is still an irresistible trend of the development of social history, while the fragmentation tendency of social history mainly relies on subjective efforts of researchers to overcome.
