From Information Management to Knowledge Management

本文通过信息、信息管理、知识、知识管理之间概念的辨析 ,论述了知识管理与信息管理的区别与联系 ,阐述了知识管理在管理的对象、管理的方式和技术以及管理的目标上的拓展、改进和深化。最后得出结论 :知识管理是信息管理适应知识经济时代发展的必然结果 ,知识管理是信息科学发展中新的增长点。

With the coming of knowledge economy, the trend of information science from information management (IM) to knowledge management (KM) has become obvious and necessary. The differences between the concept of information and knowledge and the concept of IM and KM are discussed. Through the comparing of KM and IM, the paper provides that KM has a broader view in the objects, methods, technologies and aims of management. The paper also points out that KM is developed from IM to be suitable for the present knowledge economy and will be the most active topic in information science.
