称呼语转换的顺应性研究

A Study on the Shifting of Vocatives from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory

称呼语的转换使用是一个非常复杂而又饶有趣味的言语现象。本文以Verschueren的语言顺应性理论(Adaptation Theory)为基本框架,分析和解读英、汉、日语跨语言的语料,继而指出称呼语转换是与语言使用者的物理世界、社交世界、心理世界等相互顺应之结果。它印证了语言的使用是一个以策略为基础的选择过程,是一个交际者顺应语境变量的动态过程。其研究目的是对称呼语转换规律有所了解,针对各种语境适时调整称呼策略,顺应对方的心理期待,取得良好的交际效果。

The shifting of vocatives is very complicated while interesting. Guided by Verschueren＇s Adaptation Theory, this paper, by analyzing and interpreting the data in Chinese, English and Japanese, shows that the shifting of vocatives is actually the outcome of the inter-adaptation of linguistic elements for language users＇ physical world, social world and mental world. It has affirmed that language use is a strategy-based process of choice and a dynamic process in which communicators adapt to the context vari- ants. It is the author＇s hope that a better understanding of the shifting rules of vocatives will help adapt to the listener＇s mental expectation and thus achieve a successful communication by adjusting the addressing strategies according to the context.
