This paper introduces the concepts,features and development trends of research library,sums up several important functions of research library such as academic research,service for scientific research,data processing,intelligence service,and resource construction,etc.,and puts forward some suggestions on the function construction of the research library of cadre academy from aspects of function positioning,business restructuring,human resource allocating and informatization work.
