On the Legal Regulations of "Tea-Horse Trade" in the Song Dynasty

宋朝对茶马互市实施严格控制,各项制度日臻完善。为确保茶马互市顺利开展,宋中央政府制定了一系列关于茶马贸易和管理的法律规制,主要内容以榷茶博马专卖法制为核心,还包括职官管理、市场开禁、茶马价格、入蕃茶禁以及私贩马罪罚条格等具体律令条规,诸多规管对保障西北、西南沿边的茶马贸易起了重要作用。

＂Tea-Horse Trade＂ was strictly controlled in the Song dynasty so the regulation got improved gradually.To ensure the success of the trade,the central government formulated a series of legal regulations for the management of the trade.The regulations contain the monopoly system of ＂Tea-Horse Trade＂ as the main content,and also include the official and market management of the trade,the adjustment of the prices of tea and horses,and the control of the tea trade with Tibetan,the penalties of smuggling tea and horses.The legal regulations guaranteed ＂Tea-Horse Trade＂ in the border areas in the northwest and southwest regions.
