摘要 描述了基于 WDM的光接入网结构 ,它能提供宽带 INTERNET业务。该结构利用了无源光收发网络和可配置的馈线网。基于物理层的网络结构设计已经有人提出来了。着眼于高层结构考虑 ,讨论了以下问题 :电层和光层的联合设计 ;WDM MAC协议 ;IP和 WDM层之间的电复用和交换的选择 ;光电联合保护机制 ;随着业务量改变 。 The authors describe a WDM based Optical access network architecture for providing broadband Internet services.The Architecture uses a passive collection and distribution network and a configurable feeder network.Unlike earlier papers that concentrate on the physical layer design of the network,this paper focuses on higher layer architectural considerations.In particular the paper discusses the joint design of the electronic and optical layers including WDM Medium Access Control protocol, the choice of electronic multiplexing and switching between the IP and WDM layers,joint optical and electronic protection mechanism and network reconfiguration algorithms that alter the logical topology of the network in response to changes in traffic.
