摘要
主动网络是一种新型的可编程分组交换网络 ,用户可以直接向网络节点插入用户定制的程序 ;也可以通过在报文中包含可执行的程度代码段 ,这些程序代码段由网络节点激活执行来修改或扩展网络的基础配置 .主动网络极大地促进了分组交换网络的发展 ,使其从传统分组交换网的“存储 转发”向支持动态控制或改变网络行为的“存储 计算 转发”机制转变 .主动网络的潜在优点是快速动态定制、配置网络中新的服务 ,提高网络的性能 ,使网络系统更具有灵活性、可扩展性 .
An active network is a novel programmable packet switched network, in which customized program code can be injected into the switches of the network by the users or packets can contain code fragments that are executed on the intermediary network nodes. The code carried by a packet and the customized program injected into the switches may extend and odify the network infrastructure and the switches of the network perform customizd computations on the packets flowing through them. So active networks represent a significant step in the evolution of packet switched networks, from traditional packet forwarding engines to more general functionality supporting dynamic control and modification of network behavior. The potential advantages of active network the traditional network are faster deployment, customization of netowrk services, improvement of the network performance, and great flexibility and scalability of the network.
