摘要
"何时为艺术"是美国美学家纳尔逊.古德曼在反思"什么是艺术"的基础上提出的艺术哲学问题,其目的在于解释先锋艺术颠覆传统艺术哲学所带来的理论难题。"何时为艺术"从符号功能的角度重新定义艺术,试图把艺术与科学统一纳入到制造的世界中。这不仅是对艺术定义的一次新尝试,同时也是新实用主义者对艺术与生活相关联的进一步推进和努力。
＂When it is art＂ is the artistic and philosophical question put forward by Nelson Goodman,American aesthetician according to his reflection on ＂what is art＂.The objective is to solve the theoretical difficulties that are brought about by avant-garde art when the traditional philosophy of art is subverted.＂When it is art＂ redefines the art from the perspective of function of symbols,and attempts to incorporate the art and the science into the manufacturing world.This is not only a new attempt of redefining art,but also further push of new pragmatists to combine art and life.
