Personnel training,scientific research and community service are three main functions of higher education given by the country.Local colleges and universities bear the tasks of personnel training,regional economic development service,and districts prospect promotion.Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology is located in Maoming,the southern coastal city of Guangdong province.Maoming is South China＇s largest petrochemical production base,and also China＇s largest fruit production base.How to transform the technological innovation and knowledge advantage of Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology into industrial strength,thus to promote local economy growth,is an important issue under exploration.Meanwhile,it is duty-bound for colleges and universities to serve local economy development.
