本文试图将弗里德曼的学术研究发展历程与当代规划理论的演进过程做一个对照研究,研究的基点是弗里德曼2011年出版的个人精选集《叛逆:规划理论论文集》和其他相关论文。弗里德曼的学术道路可分为四个阶段:规划理论研究产生时期、理性决策论后的乱局、全球化下的城市竞争时期以及新型民主发展时期。与之相应,弗里德曼探讨了几个主题:贫困与赋权以及市民社会;社会学习下的知识与行动以及互动式规划;美好社会、美好城市和多样化的规划文化;重新反思规划理论。

This article aims to compare the development of John Friedmann＇s academic research with the evolution of contemporary planning theory.Friedmann＇s personal collection,Insurgencies：Essays in Planning Theory,published in 2011,and other related papers are taken as a basis for analysis.The personal development of Friedmann＇s academic research could be divided into 4 stages：the beginning of planning theory research,chaos after rational decision-making,urban competitiveness under globalization,and a new democracy.Correspondingly,Friedmann raises four focuses：poverty and empowerment,and civil society;linkage between knowledge and action under social learning and transactive planning;good society,good city and multiple planning cultures;and rethinking planning theory.
