The paper describes the essentials on the loop eontrol and constant tension control of a horizontal looper. Based on the analysis on the equation of motion of the looper motor, the incremental signals of motor rotation is introdueed intu given toque signals to ovewome the flexible oscillation of the horizontal looper. In forther, strip breakage proteetion is brought in to protect the mechanical equipment of the looper effectively.
