Based on the theory of scalar diffraction and on the Fourier optics, a formula of the diffractive efficiency with alignment error for the 4 step Fresnel lens is obtained. Taking 4 step and 8 step and 16 step Fresnel lens for example, the effect of alignment error on diffractive efficiency is analyzed systematically and simulated by computer. The results of computer simulation can provide theoretical basis for the fabrication of 16 step Fresnel lens.
