Today, the entire world is striving for protection of and respect for human rights and no countrydares to openly repudiate human rights. Human rights conditions now have a direct bearing on the global economy, security and peace, and is directly linked to the ongoing devel- opment of a new international order. Human rights are now a mainstream theme of international dialogue, and constitute a factor that cannot be tak- en lightly in the competition among maior powers for influence.
