从《全地五大洲女俗通考》序跋看华人、西士观点的异同

The Different Opinions of Chinese and Western People According to the Preface and Postscripts of Woman in All Lands,or China's Places among the Nations

《全地五大洲女俗通考》由林乐知、任廷旭编译,上海华美书局1903年印行,这部译著较早引介妇女解放思想,推动了中国近代妇女的解放进程。其首卷中登录了林乐知序文、龚心铭序文、任廷旭序文、范袆书后,末卷登载了龚心铭的跋。《万国公报》除了登载上述序言、书后和跋以外,还登录了龚心铭《全地五大洲女俗通考再跋》。对同为龚心铭所作的一序两跋的对比分析,可以看出龚前后行文的不同、他所作的调整以及这背后的原因。而对《全地五大洲女俗通考》六篇序跋的比较分析,可以揭示它们之间的联系和区别,进而窥见以上四位具有不同文化身份的作者对同一文本及相关问题的不同立场和观点,进而反映出晚清华人、西教士之间的关系以及他们的不同侧重和规避。

Woman in All Lands, or China＇s Places among the Nations, edited and translated by Young John Allen and Ren Ting -xu, was published by the American Presbyterian Mission Press in Shanghai in 1903, which pushed ahead the process of women~ liberation. There are prefaces written by Young John Allen, Ren Ting -xu and postscripts by Fan Wei and Ren Ting -xu. After the analysis of these prefaces and postscripts we can see their connections and differences, and what~ more, different standpoints and opinions are reflected according to their cultural identities of the Chinese scholars and missionaries in the late Qing dynasty.
