Brief Discussion on the War of Resistance Period Poetry Creation by Mu Mutian

抗战时期民族危亡的现实促使穆木天诗风由早期的象征主义转向了现实主义。为家国生存和民族战争而书写成为穆木天诗歌创作的最高宗旨。抗战时期,穆诗多以揭示苦难、控诉罪恶、呼呼抗争为主题,充当"时代喇叭手"的历史使命,虽然强化了穆诗的时代性却削弱了诗歌的艺术色彩,但穆诗仍在色调和意象选取、结构体式等方面显出特色。

During the period of the War of Resistance, it＇s because the reality, the fate of the nation hung in the balance, that Mu Mutian converted his early symbolism writing style into realism. His supreme purpose for poetry creation was writing for the national survival. And most of his works aimed to reveal the sufferings, denounce the criminal act as well as appeal to the struggle against Japanese. As ＂Trumpeter of the Era＂, although Mu^s poetry strengthened the spirit of the time, they also weakened the artistic quality. All in all, his poetry still showed so many features in some areas such as color and image selecting and the structure--body.
