This paper investigates the current situation of English teaching of the English major students in universities and colleges in the country and collects some data about English major of national higher education as well as the demand of English translator for science and technology（EST）.And it tries to elaborate on the renovation of English teaching,especially EST from the perspective of an EST translator and an English teacher of translation courses,so as to improve the students＇ abilities in EST translation.Therefore,the students of English major can further meet the demand and requirement of the society.
