This article primarily discusses the identity crisis of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882 in overseas Chinese history. The American overseas Chinese after the first Loayists were spreading political ideas in American overseas Chinese community then, and their activities promoted the change of the overseas Chinese identity and the formation of patriotism.
