Brief Analysis of Popularity of Chinese in Thailand

泰国和中国自古以来就是友好邻邦,远在13世纪,就有大批中国人移居泰国,汉语在泰国的传播从中国移民踏上泰国土地的那一刻便开始了,可谓历时久远。近年来,在汉语全球热的大背景下,泰国的汉语学习更是热潮不断。本文从政治、经济、文化三方面探讨导致目前泰国汉语热的成因。

Thailand and China have been friendly neighbors since ancient times. Far back to 13th century, a large number of Chi- nese people immigrated to Thailand, and from that moment on, Chinese began to spread into Thailand. In recent years, with the global popularity of Chinese, Chinese learning becomes more and more popular in Thailand. This article attempts to explore the reasons for its current popularity in Thailand from political, economic and cultural aspects.
