The EU Science and Technology Fellowship Programme China, funded by the European Union, is focused on making the European Union 'an increasingly credible partner in China's fast growing research environment'. There are 58 young researchers in total from EU Member-States who do research in China at universities and institutes. Mr. Clemens Smolders, lead expert of the programme, said: 'We live in an era of interdependence, and only by working together can we grow most effi ciently and effectively.'
