The thesis,which briefly analyzes the development of reading theories and the teaching of foreign language reading,gives a concise interpretation of the main ideas of reading theories and teaching theories of foreign language reading such as Grammar Translation Method,Bottom-up Reading Theory,Social and Communicative Aspects of Language Teaching,Psycholinguistic Theories of Reading,and Social Theories of Reading.
