The theory was first mentioned in Mu Jing Da Cheng written by Huang Tingjing. Extensive study was first made by Tang Youzhi in 1958, a modern ophthalmologist. In the article, analysis on some clinical materials explained that the incision yielded great influences onmodern inner eye operation. It is universal recognized, both domestically and abroad(by the American Machemer in 1972) that it is a safe and reliable incision.
