The 2OO9 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate,known as one of the most low-key and mysterious architect, Swiss architect Peter Zumghor has a new work, the Steilnsset Memorial in Vardm, Finnmark county, Norway. The Steilnesel is a memorial to the witchhunts of the early 17th Century. The name of this small memorioI-Steilneset is the execution site of witchcraft trials 400 years ago. LiKe so many of Peter Zumthor＇s other works, we suspect the Steilneset will become a place of pilgrimage.
