The Implication of American "21 Century Skills" ——And the Illumination for Chinese Elementary Education Reform

"21世纪技能"是美国为了应对新世纪挑战而提出的教育改革的新思想,包含两个大系统:其一是"学生学业成果":在保留传统核心课程的基础上增加了跨学科的专题研究;学习与创新技能;信息、媒介与技术素养;生活与事业技能。其二是"支持系统",阐释了21世纪标准、评估、课程、教学、专业发展与学习环境。"21世纪技能"整合了21世纪社会与人的发展的需求,代表着美国当今教育改革的最新思路与发展走向。

21 Century Skills is the new theory of the United States for educational reform to respond to the new century challenge. There are two parts,one is ＂21st century student outcomes＂ focusing on mastery of core sub- jects, but also promoting understanding of academic content at much higher levels by weaving 21st century interdisciplinary themes into core subjects. The other part is ＂21st century support systems＂ which includes 21st cen- tury standards, assessments, curriculum, instruction, professional development and learning environments. The is- sue of 21 Century Skills,which has integrated 21st century needs of society and human being,represents the new idea and trend of today＇s American education.
