A Brief Introduction to People's Religious Activities in Wei-jin,South and North Dynasties

魏晋南北朝时期,民众的物质生活十分匮乏,精神上也有很大压力。他们便以独特的宗教生活来缓解这些压力。概括说来,魏晋南北朝时期,民众的宗教生活主要有造像、写经以及淫祀。民众通过这些宗教活动寄托自己的企愿,表达心灵的诉求,摆脱精神的苦痛。

Common people＇s material was very scarce in Wei-jin,South and North Dynasties,apart from heavy spiritual pressures.They tried to alleviate these pressures through religious activities,which generally cover statue constructions,jingshu transcriptions and sacrifices.People express their spiritual aspirations and place their hopes in these religious activities so as to get rid of spiritual suffering.
