摘要
RRM1 is a cellular target for gemcitabine. Recent studies have demonstrated that higher RRM1 expression level is closely related to the poorer efficacy of gemcitabine treatment in different types of cancer, such as non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, and biliary tract cancer. However, the expression of RRM1 and its relationship with resistancy to gemcitabine-based chemotherapy in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is unknown.
Chromosomal abnormality is one of the hallmarks of cancer cells. Thousands of chromosomal aberrations have been discovered and associated with cancer. On page 215-222 of this issue, Xin-Yuan Guan et al. review the loss of chromosome 3p and its hypothetical consequences in the initiation and development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. There are several approaches that can be used to explore chromosomal aberrations in cancer cells. As seen on the front cover,
