地理信息数据库的建设中经常会遇到地名中出现生僻字的情况,如何录入、显示这些生僻字一直是困扰数据库建设者的难题。本文基于国家1∶50 000基础地理信息数据库的建设,对地名生僻字的处理提出了一套完整的解决方案。

Some rarely-used Chinese characters in geographic names are often encountered in tile construclion of topographic database. How to input and display these charaelers is a difficuh problem to database constructors. This article presented a thoroughly solution to the problem on the basis of the construction of national 1：50 000topographic database.
