摘要
在过去十几年的英语教学改革中,教学目标已经从"语言能力"扩展到"交际能力",又扩展到"跨文化交际能力"。但是,目前中国的英语教学仍然注重听、说、读、写能力的培养,而跨文化交际能力的培养被边缘化。此外,文化方面的教学还有两个误区:一是很多研究人员和教师仍倾向于认为跨文化交际能力的培养不过是文化知识的传授和测试;二是只讲国外的文化,而忽视了自己国家的文化。比如很多中国学生不知道应该怎样用英语表达中国的四大名著。为了消弭这两个误区并促进文化教学,本文深入探讨了在大学英语教学情境下培养学生跨文化交际能力的内涵和目标。在这些论述的基础上,援引了具体的教学实例来阐释如何培养学生的跨文化交际能力。最后,本文指出了未来研究和教学改革的方向。
The purpose of college English teaching has been expanded from cultivating "language competence" to "communication competence" and then to "intercultural communication competence". However, in teaching practice, The training the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing still takes the priority, leaving culture and the cultivation of intercultural communication competence at periphery. In addition, there are two false beliefs: first, culture is simply pieces of factual information to be memorized by the students; second, only the euhure of the target language is taught while the culture of the native language is ignored. Correspondingly, lots of Chinese students don't know how to express the four classic novels of China in English. In order to enhance the cultivation of intercultural communication competence, this paper endeavors to explore the meaning and purpose of intercultural communication competence in the context of college English teaching in China. On the basis of these theoretical discussions, specific examples of teaching are introduced. This paper concludes with suggestions for future research and teaching reform.
