There has been an increasing need for a systematical conceptual framework of public hospital reform.By applying a multiple-discipline approach,a conceptual framework of public hospital reform has been constructed to analyze and illustrate the domain,levels,components,segments and their causal relationship in the field of public hospital reform.The conceptual framework has been playing an important role in theory and policy research,policy decision-making,implementation,monitoring and evaluation on public hospital reform.
