The Origin and Its Related Problems in Bamboo Slips

长期以来,学界关于简牍与甲骨的起源孰先孰后问题众说纷纭,莫衷一是。文章认为简牍起源于尧、舜、禹时代,而其广泛普及的时期在商、周;盛行期是战国至东汉末年。简牍与甲骨是并行于世的文献形态。在纸张普遍使用之前,简牍不仅是使用时间最长,而且也是使用范围最广的书写材料。

For a long time,the academia carries divergent views about which is the priority one between the bamboo slips＇ origin and bones＇.This paper argues that bamboo slips originated in the era of Yu,Shun and Yao,gained wide availability in Shang and Zhou Dynasty,and achieved its wide popularity in the Eastern Han Dynasty.Bamboo slips and bones are parallel in the world literature form.Before the widespread use of paper,bamboo is not only used for the longest time,but also the most widely used as writing material.
