ASEAN's Region Security Strategy: Formation,Evolution and Tendency

东盟是亚太地区唯一的中小国家集团。自上世纪60年代成立以来,东盟一直在探索能够保障东南亚地区安全与稳定的战略,并积极寻求本地区安全事务主导权。四十多年来,东盟依据国际形势的发展变化和自身实力发展情况,依据对安全威胁来源的认知与判断,适时地做出反应并不断调整其地区安全战略,形成了能够维护东盟国家安全利益的有效战略。

ASEAN is the only international organization in Asia-pacific region which consists of small and mediumsized countries. Since its establishment, ASEAN has been searching for a security strategy to ensure the security and stability of Southeast Asia region, and seeking dominant regional security issues. In the past over forty years, ASEAN has been constantly adjusting its security strategy according to the international situation changes and ASEAN＇s power. Based on the cognition and judgment of the threat on safety, it has also formed effective security strategy to safeguard the ASEAN countries and their common interest.
