What is Production of Space?:Analysis on the Production of Space from Historical Materialism Perspective

空间是物质的存在方式。在理论逻辑上,历史唯物主义内在地肯定空间能够"生产"。空间并不因其是生产出来的就必然具有社会性,但在特定的历史条件下,空间生产及其结果即空间产品必然具有社会的性质。空间生产的过程不仅是空间产品的创造过程同时也是社会关系的再造过程。空间生产概念并不排斥物质生产概念,它进一步深化和丰富了基于物质生产对社会结构和社会发展的分析。空间生产范式揭示并凸显了社会历史发展在空间维度上所具有的丰富内容。历史唯物主义空间生产理论的建构是历史唯物主义的当代出场。

Space is the existence form of the substance. According to its theoretical logic, historical materialism affirmed that space can be ＂produced＂. Space is not bound to have sociality just because that it is produced. However, under the certain historical conditions the production of space and its results must have sociality. The process of space production is the creative process of both the spatial products and the social relations. The concept of space production does not exclude the concept of material production. On the contrary, it further deepens and enriches the analysis about the social structure and social development based on material production. The paradigm of space production reveals and highlights the rich content of social development in the space dimension. The construeting of the space production theory of historical materialism shows the contemporary appearance of the historical materialism.
