From Cognitive Dimensions of HAND to its Semantic Construction

摘要 根据Tyler&Evans(2003)的多义网络理论,"手"的意义系统是在人类体验加工过程中建构的;体验方式及认知维度是"手"的意义系统产生和发展的原始动力,也是意义建构的理据。人类对"手"的认识过程可以从五个维度,即实体之手、工具之手、容器之手、方向之手、运动之手进行分析。本文以英汉语中"手"的表达为语料进行解读,从而揭示人类在认知"手"的过程中所采用的认知理据和认知策略。 Based on the polysemy network theory of Tyler & Evans (2003), the paper puts forward the idea that the semantic system of HAND is constructed in the process of cognition and that the cognitive approaches and cognitive dimensions can be regarded as the primitive force in the formation and development of the semantic system, which is also the motivation of semantic construction. The paper, casting the traditional semantic classification away, conducts a cognitive approach to HAND. Specifically speaking, the paper, based on the corpus of HAND, construes, the cognitive process of the word from these five aspects: entity, instrument, container, orientation, and movement, so as to reveal the cognitive motivations and strategies in cognizing HAND.
