Cultural Interpretation of Miscommunication Between German-Chinese Interaction

问题交际的产生与语言有关,也与文化有关,不同的文化表现出不同的价值观。以Hall的低语境文化和高语境文化理论、Hofstede的个体主义和集体主义文化理论为依据,诠释了中德人际交往中诸多常见的误解,旨在帮助两种文化的人们尽可能地减少问题交际,进行有效的跨文化交流。

As cultures are the reflection of people＇s values,cultural difference is another potential factor that may lead to miscommunication besides language.Based on the Hall＇s theory of low and high context culture,and Hofstede＇s theory of individualism and collectivism,this paper interprets misunderstandings in Chinese-German social interaction.The purpose is to help people avoid miscommunication and achieve efficient cross-cultural communication.
