热戏是唐代散乐的主要表演方式,是一种竞技性或竞艺性的斗戏活动,主要内容为竞技性百戏和竞艺性表演,其形态为分朋竞技或分朋竞艺。竞艺性表演是唐代戏剧的主要表现方式,无论是对台戏形式的演出,还是对手戏形式的表演,都充分体现了竞艺性表演的闹热特质,影响着后来传统戏曲的整体审美取向。

Rexi （literally means hot plays） is a major way of performance in the secular music of the Tang Dynasty. It is a type of contests in drama performances, and can be categorized as such two kinds as match competition of athletic skills and artistic performances with stories. The latter one becomes dom- inant in drama performances of Tang Dynasty, which influences the whole aesthetic orientation of tradi- tional operas.
