Non-governmental higher education is an outcome of historical development, and an essential component of Chinese socialist education, training talents for social and economic development. A multitude of factors such as various re- sources and diversified environments are booming non-governmental higher education multi-dimensionally, so in this sense, the history of non-government education is also an evolution history of its resource, environment, policy and schooling strategy. It is theoretically and practically significant to analyze the development stage and characteristics of non-governmental higher edu- cation, thus promoting its sustainable and healthy development.
