本文论述语言的形式和功能匹配的实体是英语基本句型的事件句型。事件句型是语言研究的核心,是形式与意义和功能统一的整体,是能从语言的意义链切分下来的可独立的概念,是语言理解和表达的参考点。语言修辞也是以句型为核心展开的。不论语言的形式多么复杂、奇特,必须符合基本句型。抓住语言的形式与功能匹配这一原则,翻译过程的理解和表达等各种问题都能迎刃而解。

This paper discusses that the entity of the match of language＇ s form and function is the event sentence of basic English sen- tences. Event sentence is the core of language study, a unified whole of the form, meaning and function, a separate concept which can be cut down from the meaning chain of language, the reference point of language comprehension and expression as well. Rhetoric in language is usually unfolded by taking sentence as the core. No matter how complicated and strange it is, the form of language must meet the basic sentence. Once the principle of the match of language＇ s form and function is grasped, un- derstanding and expressing of the translating process and a variety of other problems will be easily solved.
