On Zhang Dainian's Study about the Comparison of Chinese and Western Philosophy

张岱年以"总的类称的哲学"论证中国哲学的合法性地位,认为中西哲学有共同关注的根本问题,只是在概念范畴以及基本倾向上有差异,并进而从宇宙论、致知论、人生论三大根本问题着手来分析中西哲学之异同。在此基础上,张岱年建立了"综合创新"的新唯物论体系,提出了"唯物、解析、理想"的观点,并以此分析文化问题,认为中西文化本无根本的不同,具有融合的可能。张岱年吸收解析与唯物辩证的方法创造性地进行中国哲学的转化,促使了中国哲学向系统化、条理化的方向发展。

Zhang Dainian accommodates the legitimacy of the status of Chinese Philosophy by 'general type of philosophy '.Zhang thinks that there are fundamental issues of common concern in the area of Chinese and Western philosophy.The difference between them is from category and tendency.And the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western philosophy are analyzed from the three fundamental issues which are Metaphysics,epistemology and theory of life.On this basis,Zhang establishes the new materialism of 'integrated innovation',and proclaims' materialism,analysis and ideal',then analyses the cultural problem.Zhang believes that it is possible to integrate the Chinese culture and Western culture because there is no fundamental difference between them.Zhang absorbs the method of analysis and dialectics to transform creatively Chinese philosophy,which prompts Chinese philosophy more systematic and clearer.
