创先争优活动在高校的开展,是高校学习实践科学发展观的延续和深化,也是高校履行大学使命与责任的具体实践。创先争优,是大学使命与责任的应有之义,是大学内涵建设的载体与抓手,是大学科学发展的永恒主题与不竭动力。各高校要在提高人才培养质量中、提升科学研究水平中、社会服务中和引领区域社会文化中创先争优;要持之以恒形成创先争优活动的惯性行为;要搭建平台保障创先争优活动的经常性开展;要褒扬激励为创先争优活动注入不竭动力;要总结创新构建创先争优活动的长效机制。

＂Striving for Excellence Campaign＂ in colleges and universities is not only the extending and deepening study and practice of scientific development view in colleges and universities, but the concrete practice for colleges and universities to fulfill their missions and obligations. To a college or an university,striving for excellence is its mission and obligation; a trager and a handle for its connotation construction; the eternal theme and inexhaustible motive power for its scientific development. This pa- per argues that striving for excellency campaign in colleges and universities should be carried out in improving personnel train- ing,scientific research,social service as well as in leading community culture; and a permanent mechanism should be developed for maintaining： the continnit~ ~d ＊;,,; ~ .~
