摘要
作者回顾了近代翻译理论，追溯了严复的翻译思想。他认为，应该继承中国的传统翻译文化，研究翻译的语法，建立科学翻译学。
The author reviews the modern translation theory and appraises the three characters: faithfulness, expressiveness. and elegance by Yan Fu. He seriously believes that science translation will result from carrying forward traditional trans- lations studies and probing into logical grammar for translators.
