劳伦斯的《儿子与情人》着力描写了在现代工业文明社会中 ,处于灵肉分离状态下男女的苦闷和无奈 ,指出工业文明和社会阶层之间的隔阂带来灵与肉的分离 ,而灵与肉的分离必然导致爱情和婚姻的失败 ,从而提出灵肉结合的理想爱情观。
