摘要
中国的佛教雕塑源自古印度的犍陀罗和芨多等地区的佛教雕塑。中国历代雕刻家在制作学习佛教造像的过程中,逐步将其加以改造,使其既保存了一些原始的样式,又更多地体现出符合中国人审美习惯的特色。
The Chinese form of the Buddhist sculpture stems from the ancient India, especially in Gandhara and Gupta. In the process of learning how to make the buddhist sculpture, the Chinese sculptors have gradually, changed its styles, preserving some original patterns but meantime adding more elements to cater to the aesthetic taste of Chinese people.
