摘要
基于会话分析框架,本文对外语课堂同伴互动语码转换现象进行了调查和分析,重点研究语码转换在完成不同类型口语互动任务中的频率和功能。研究发现:卡片问答型任务完成中语码转换频率相对较低,英语表达较流利,但不利于学习者思维扩展和认知能力的提高;图片叙述型任务完成中语码转换频率增加,但有助于提高语言准确性和合作协商性;随着学习者互动能力的增强,语码转换频率在卡片问答型任务中逐渐降低,而在图片叙述型任务中无明显变化,但其功能表现有所不同。本文认为,同伴互动中的语码转换可视为一种话语、认知、交往策略,涉及多种功能;适度使用语码转换有助于培养外语学习者的学习兴趣,提高其认知思维能力,加强学习者之间互帮互助、共同合作的精神。
This paper studies code-switching(CS) in classroom interactions among English learners,by focusing on the frequencies and functions of code-switching in two types of tasks.Close observation of the participants' vocal and nonvocal conduct reveals that students used code-switching less frequently in card-answer tasks,but more frequently in picture-narration tasks.With the development of the learners' interactive abilities,the frequency of code-switching in card-answer tasks decreased,but hardly changed in picture-narration tasks,where more functions of code-switching come into play.As a cognitive strategy and a means of communication,code-switching serves various functions.A right amount of CS use helps cultivate learners' interest in learning a foreign language,clean up their thinking,improve their interactive abilities,and foster a better peer relationship.
