The May 4th Movemcht and Peasants

五四时期 ,一部分农民阶级也参加了反帝爱国运动 ,从山东、东北、上海等地的农民斗争来看 ,农民阶级具有强烈的反帝爱国精神 ,但大部分农民仍未觉醒。有志青年应深入农村 ,唤醒农民的觉悟 。

During the May 4th Movement, there were also quite a number of peasants who took an active part in such a patriotic and anti imperialist movement. This paper chooses their tightings in three areas as the study object to illustrate their strong spirit of patriotism and anti imperialism. It also shows that a larger number of peasants didn't become politically awakened yet. So Chinese pioneers should have gone down to villages to arouse them so that they would get emancipated.
